We have a cat who has proclivity towards highish alkaline urine and cystitis. I really appreciate the benefit of this simple way to monitor his urine for any problems and changes that might necessitate the vet. If it's only slightly alkaline I can manage at home by increasing his raw meat and reducing things like treats and if it becomes more problematic then this simple urine testing method will alert me as soon as I clean the litter box.
