Claim Your Non-Mains Energy Concession with Eco 247 Firewood!

Are you an Eco 247 customer using firewood for heating, cooking, or hot water? You could be eligible for the Non-Mains Energy Concession, a government rebate designed to help cover yearly energy costs. If you’re a concession cardholder, this rebate could mean savings of up to $634 a year!

What is the Non-Mains Energy Concession?

The Non-Mains Energy Concession is a rebate available to households that rely on non-mains energy sources like firewood, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), heating oil, electricity from embedded networks, or generator fuel. It helps concession cardholders manage their energy costs throughout the year.

If you're an Eco 247 customer who uses firewood for domestic heating, you may qualify for this rebate.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

You may be eligible if you hold any of the following concession cards:

  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Health Care Card
  • Veterans' Affairs Gold Card

However, special conditions apply for firewood:

  • Your fire must be the only source of fixed heating in your home.
  • You’ll need to submit a statutory declaration confirming this when you apply, or if you change addresses.

How Much Can You Claim?

The rebate is paid annually, and the amount you receive is based on how much you spend on non-mains energy sources each year. For 2024, the rebate tiers are as follows:

  • $56 for spending between $100 and $326.99
  • $172 for spending between $327 and $981.99
  • $286 for spending between $982 and $1633.99
  • $408 for spending between $1634 and $2331.99
  • $522 for spending between $2332 and $2983.99
  • $634 for spending over $2984

Each energy type you use qualifies for a separate rebate.
