Meet the Oriental

Sleek, smart, and full of chat

The Oriental was developed from the Siamese, keeping its elegant shape, almond eyes and big ears but adding a rainbow of solid, smoke, tabby and bicolour coats in place of the Siamese colourpoints.

Personality-wise, an Oriental is all in. They follow you from room to room, talk you through their day and want to be part of everything you do. In return, they're among the most affectionate cats you'll meet.

  • Hundreds of colours and patterns
  • Talkative, clever and endlessly curious
  • Bonds closely and loves to be involved

Oriental kittens

From kitten to full-grown

Every Oriental starts out as a bundle of curiosity. Kittens grow quickly, and the cat you see above is what yours will grow into.

Always choose a registered breeder. A good breeder will have your kitten vet-checked, vaccinated and microchipped, and will happily answer your questions and introduce you to the parents.

A Oriental-friendly home

Life with an Oriental

An Oriental needs little coat care but lots of company, play and conversation. Give them that and they'll be your shadow for life.

Company is a must

Orientals don't do well alone all day. A busy household or a second cat keeps them happy.

Keep that brain busy

Puzzle feeders, clicker training and daily play stop boredom (and mischief).

Warm spots

With a fine, short coat, Orientals love a sunny window, a heated bed or your lap.
