Meet the Ocicat

Spotted, social, and sure of itself

The Ocicat was created in the United States in the 1960s, when a breeder crossing Siamese and Abyssinian cats produced a spotted kitten that looked like a little ocelot. American Shorthair was added later, giving the breed its solid build and silver colours.

Despite the wild look, there's no wild blood in an Ocicat. They're confident, friendly cats that often behave a little like dogs: they come when called, play fetch and follow their people everywhere.

  • Bold spots with no wild-cat ancestry
  • Outgoing, confident and easy to train
  • Loyal, sociable and great with families

Ocicat kittens

From kitten to full-grown

Every Ocicat starts out as a bundle of curiosity. Kittens grow quickly, and the cat you see above is what yours will grow into.

Always choose a registered breeder. A good breeder will have your kitten vet-checked, vaccinated and microchipped, and will happily answer your questions and introduce you to the parents.

A Ocicat-friendly home

Life with an Ocicat

An Ocicat asks for company, play and a little training time. In return you get a loyal, entertaining companion with a stunning coat.

Not a solo cat

Ocicats love company and do best where someone's often home, or with another pet.

Train and play

Clicker training, puzzle toys and fetch suit their clever, confident nature.

Minimal coat care

The short coat needs only a quick weekly brush to stay glossy.
