Meet the Elf

Curled ears, warm heart

The Elf is one of the newest cat breeds, created in the United States in the early 2000s by crossing the Sphynx with the American Curl. The result is a hairless, muscular cat with distinctive ears that curl back from the head.

Like the Sphynx, an Elf is not low-maintenance: no fur means regular baths, ear cleaning and protection from cold and sun. In return you get an affectionate, clever cat that treats you as its favourite person. The Elf is still a rare, developing breed, so choose a registered breeder who health-tests.

Elf kittens

From kitten to full-grown

Every Elf starts out as a bundle of curiosity. Kittens grow quickly, and the cat you see above is what yours will grow into.

Always choose a registered breeder. A good breeder will have your kitten vet-checked, vaccinated and microchipped, and will happily answer your questions and introduce you to the parents.

An Elf-friendly home

Life with an Elf

An Elf needs warmth, skin care and lots of company. Get those right and you'll have a devoted little shadow.

Bath & skin routine

Without fur to soak up skin oils, an Elf needs regular gentle baths and its curled ears cleaned often.

Keep them warm

A hairless cat feels the cold. Cosy beds, jumpers in winter and indoor sunny spots are a must, plus sun protection on hot days.

Company and play

Elves hate being left alone. Daily play, puzzle toys and a busy household keep them happy.
