The Devon Rex is easily identified by its distinctive short, curly coat and unique facial structure, featuring a disproportionately large head relative to its neck and body. While their coat is exceptionally soft, it is also fragile and requires delicate grooming; sparse patches of fur on the belly or head are common.

Personality-wise, the Devon Rex is highly energetic, playful, and known for its clownish, attention-seeking antics. As avid jumpers and climbers, they require an indoor environment equipped with tall perches and warm, sunny resting spots.
