Sapphire eyes, silk gloves and a heart of gold. The Birman was bred for companionship — and it shows.

Meet the Birman
The Birman's true origins remain a beautiful mystery — officially recognised in France in 1925 — but legend says their striking blue eyes and golden coats were a gift from a goddess. With their pointed colours they're often mistaken for Siamese, but their sweet, relaxed disposition is all their own.
Birmans are the ultimate friendly companions: they adore lounging with their families, welcome houseguests warmly, and — when socialised early — get along beautifully with other cats and even dogs.
