The Australian Mist is one of the few cat breeds native to the Australian continent. The breed was developed by Dr. Truda Straede in 1977, taking nearly a decade of selective breeding to gain full official recognition.

Their short coats come in several colors and feature either marbled or spotted patterns. Known as an ideal choice for first-time owners, they are highly adaptable to various environments.

They possess an energetic yet tolerant nature that makes them great for families with children, while also being calm enough to serve as quiet companions for older adults. They thrive on attention and make excellent indoor pets.
